UFI Asia-Pacific Conference held “face-to-face” again in Kuala Lumpur
The UFI Asia-Pacific Conference 2023, hosted by the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC), gathered 220 delegates from over 20 countries and regions. Held from March 2-3, the event focused on the future of the exhibition industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
A Strategic Gathering for the APAC Region
Industry leaders convened to discuss new opportunities and challenges in the APAC region, marking the first in-person conference since 2019. Malaysia’s Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, highlighted the importance of international business events in revitalizing the country’s tourism sector.
Insights and Networking Opportunities
The conference featured a variety of sessions on key topics, including Asia’s reopening after the pandemic and the rise of India as a significant player in the exhibition industry. Participants also enjoyed networking opportunities and a tour of Kuala Lumpur.
Education Initiative and Future Collaborations
A notable outcome of the conference was the announcement of the “UFI Certified Professional” program, aimed at upskilling event professionals in Malaysia. Additionally, UFI and the Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations (AFECA) signed an agreement to collaborate on research and education.

The UFI Asia-Pacific Conference 2024 will take place in Macau, continuing UFI’s commitment to supporting the exhibition industry in the region.
