The HR Management Working Group addresses HR-related topics that are of high importance for exhibition industry professionals. The exhibition industry is often described as a “people” industry, and in the current increasingly digitalised and competitive world, people were never so important. Today’s senior HR players are truly business partners within a company, and an integral part of a company’s success story. So, investing in people makes commercial sense.
HR challenges include the need to identify, develop and retain skills in a fast-changing, increasingly numerical world. The main purpose of the UFI HR Management Working Group is to address those important and timely topics that affect our industry – and the people working within it. The information is disseminated to the wider UFI community through various events (the HR Management Forum and the HR Special Interest Group that takes place during the UFI Global Congress).
The last HR Management Forum took place in Maastricht, The Netherlands in June 2023 and all the material from the event is available in the Members’ Area of the UFI website.
The Working Group also seeks to promote best practices through the HR award scheme.
Education and training are also a strong focus for the group, as they are significant HR issues for the exhibition industry.
