On 5 June at the Auditorium dell’Ara Pacis in Rome, AEFI will celebrate Global Exhibitions Day.
The UN goals set out by the 2030 Agenda, which should guide strategic decision-making for sustainable development, will influence both the trade show districts, or buildings, and the organisational processes set up to manage waste, reduce energy consumption and, more generally, to fully apply the principles of a circular economy.
The best practices of AEFI members will be presented at the Ara Pacis, with the aim of sharing virtuous paths and generating positive emulation.
Achieving systematic goals in a global economy requires the close collaboration of companies, trade fairs and institutions; it will be discussed by the AEFI President and Vice Presidents during a debate that will also cover the themes of sector legislation, a vision of economic development, and promotion of the Made in Italy.

From the offices to the exhibition halls we wanted to shout about Global Exhibition Day! Celebrating the international occasion here in the Middle East we spread the word about the global industry together with our culturally diverse team consisting of 20 different nationalities, collectively speaking over 15 languages. We all gathered together from workers to management in each department in several locations across the UAE including our project sites to film short videos with images and signage which we later combined to create one video incorporating music and our message for GED 2019.

We are committed to keep contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.

That is the reason why we developed our first Industry Innovation Contest while celebrating the Global Exhibitions Day.

Where our staff exposed innovative sustainable ideas.
And we chose a project that we expect to carry out in the near future: turning cardboard containers into
tiling and roof tiles for our staff.

At Corferias, we are convinced that our industry allows us to create sustainable progress. Therefore, we will keep opening spaces where innovation get us closer to the sustainable development that the world needs.

We create opportunities and progress!

With a view to boosting industry statistics and knowledge, IELA launches its campaign for active data collection. UFI’s new Economic Impact Study accentuates the global economic impact of the exhibition industry. We recognise the importance of quantifying our industry potential and have introduced a targeted initiative this year.
Having collected incredible amounts of data over 10 years, combined telescopes from all over the world to use the network as one giant telescope, scientists from all over the world finally identify the first image of a black hole. The Event Horizon project shows how data sharing and teamwork works towards one common goal. For GED19, IELA unites its network strengths to launch this interferometric initiative.
The IELA GED19 Event Logistics Horizon project begins the 2020 IELA DATA ROOM survey. IELA Members will take pictures while activating their own telescopes in support of GED19 and together we will create our big picture in 2020 with the IELA DATA ROOM!
